Other Leagues and Player News

Roarie Deacon spent some time at Hythe Town last season, joining in November as Player/Assistant Manager when Darren Beale was appointed as the club’s second Manager of the season. He made nine appearances for Hythe, scoring in the first minute of his debut at Sutton Athletic in a 2-2 draw.

After leaving Hythe in January he made twelve appearances and scored three goals for Harold Hill in the Essex Olympian League Premier Division, earning the Chairman’s Player of the Year award. The club were bottom of the league on 1 February, winless and with just seven points from 18 games but went on to finish 12th, winning eight of their last twelve games.

He has now been appointed Assistant Manager with another well known name in Kent football, Joe Ellul, taking the Manager’s job.

Wimbledon Casuals of the Surrey Premier County League (Step 7) have folded. ‘In early 2019 a group of us got together to see if we could start a football club. Seven seasons later, after five league titles, three cup wins, four cup final losses and an unbeaten season, we’re calling it a day. We’ve loved (almost) every minute but sadly all good things come to an end.

In 2025/26 they finished runners up in the league, three points behind champions Worcester Park. 5th placed Dial Square were promoted to the Southern Combination League Division One. AFC Greenwich Borough beat Wimbledon Casuals 2-0 in the final of last season’s London Senior Trophy.

Football teams may have success on the pitch but football clubs, whilst not necessarily achieving success on the pitch, provide a service to the community.
