Other Leagues’ News

Greenways (SCEFL1) have announced that Jack Clark will be their new First Team Manager, replacing Andy Pierce who recently moved to Rochester United. Last season Jack Clark captained the side and made 35 appearances, scoring two goals. Brad Brooker has been named as Assistant Manager.

Pilkington (NWCP) who finished 22nd (of 24), three points above the relegation zone, are the first Step 5 team to leave the system since the new allocations were released last month. Following ‘a post season review’ they have resigned from the North West Counties Football League and their first team will replace their existing U23 side in the Cheshire League Division 2 (equivalent of Step 9). In 2025/26, the club had an average attendance of 97 and already play on a 3g pitch. Although the League originally announced that the division would run with only 19 teams, compared with 24 last season, it now seems that this was a bit previous and that a decision will be announced after the FA have considered any appeals from the allocation process. If the division is to have 20 teams, it is expected that the 20th team will come from the NW area

Start Dates for Step 5 Leagues

Saturday 25 July: ECP

Saturday 1 August: ESL, NWCP, SCEFLP, WXP (likely)

Still to be announced: CCPN, CCPS, HLP, MLP, NCEP, NL1, SCP, SSMP, UCPN, UCPS and WLP
