Pilkington (NWCP) who finished 22nd (of 24), three points above the relegation zone, are the first Step 5 team to leave the system since the new allocations were released last month. Although the League originally announced that the division would run with only 19 teams, compared with 24 last season, it now seems that this was a bit previous and that a decision will be announced after the FA have considered any appeals from the allocation process. If the division is to have 20 teams, it is expected that the 20th team will come from the NW area
