Update covering 17 May - 21 May 2026

Around the Clubs

Beckenham Town, relegated from IL1SE to SCEFLP, have announced that Del Oldfield has left his position as Manager of the club.

Petts Wood & Holmesdale - Grant Duff who had been First Team Coach at the club has announced that his time at Holmesdale has come to an end.

Snodland Town have released their first interview with new First Team Player Manager, Connor Dymond.

Pre-Season Matches

I have posted a list of pre season matches that have been announced involving SCEFLP clubs.

This list will be updated as and when new information comes to light.

Please check with the clubs’ websites or social media channels before travelling as such games can be called off and venues or kick off times changed at short notice.

SCEFLP Map 2026/27

As produced by Kochichvartz on the NonLeagueMatters forum, this link (Step 5) to Google Maps shows the locations (squares) of the 18 sides included in this season’s SCEFLP.

The three black dots are clubs in the Southern Combination League Premier Division and indicate how close they are to have possibly been included in SCEFLP to make a division of 20.

Groundshare

Phoenix Sports have announced that their groundshare agreement with Northumberland Heath has been extended for a further season. In 2025/26 their tenants finished top of the Bromley and South London Football League Premier Division by eight points. It seems that they will be members of the Kent County League for the forthcoming season.

Other Management Changes

Banstead Athletic, who finished 13th in SCEFL1, have announced Terry Savage as Assistant Manager and Anthony Maidment as Coach.

Greenways have announced the departure of Andy Pierce. In 2025/26, the club finished 6th in SCEFL1 but nine points short of a play-off spot. And just over an hour later, he was announced as Manager of Rochester United who finished 3rd in SCEFL1, losing in the play-off final to SE Dons.

Tony Whitaker will be Assistant Manager at Rochester United with Scott Penfold and Hicham Akhazzan as First Team Coaches.

Darren Beale, who was manager of Hythe Town from mid November until late January last season has been appointed First Team Manager at Kent County League Premier Division champions, Hawkinge Town. He replaces Andy Crush, now at Hythe Town.

Whitstable Town have announced that Lee Martin, most recently at Ramsgate, is the club’s new First Team Manager, replacing Jamie Coyle.

Step 5 Reprievals

In the recent league allocations, there were 13 reprievals granted at Step 5 due to clubs dropping out of the system.

The relevant FA regulations include:

‘At Steps 2-5 the Club finishing in last place in the table at the end of the Regular Season will be relegated and not reprieved.

At Steps 3 to 6, the vacancies shall be filled at the sole discretion of the Committee.’

Generally it is accepted that points per game is used to decide which sides are given a reprieve. For guidance Stansfeld, who finished next to bottom of SCEFLP, had a PPG of 0.58. By my calculations, if they had picked up just one more point during the season they would have likely been reprieved.

Reprievals

CCPN - Amersham Town (PPG 0.68)

CCPS - Camberley Town (PPG 0.92)

ECP - Lakenheath (PPG 0.79)

ESP - Frenford (PPG 0.87)

HLP - Cribbs (PPG 0.79)

MLP - Highgate United (PPG 0.62) - now switched to UCPS
